Paint Party, Booking Deadline & FAQ’s

Yet another busy week for us at Snow! We’ve got our beloved annual PAINT PARTY TOMORROW! Get yourself a ticket here, and get it fast, they are selling like hot cakes. We’ve got pictures of last years event up on the Facebook event if you fancied a sneak peak, hopefully we won’t turn out as orange! Tickets are £6 for members and £8 for non including a UEA Snow white t-shirt to trash at your leisure (and some paint). Please note it does not include your LCR ticket, get that here.

More importantly however, booking for our January trip CLOSES THIS SUNDAY! Secure yourself a place in the mountains with your £100 deposit, then you’ve got a few weeks to pay off the rest. It’s christmas next month so if you were struggling for ideas then this is obviously the way to go…

January Trip

We will be in the hive tomorrow giving out social t’s and again on Friday if you had any questions or just wanted to walk through booking with someone – if you book on trip at the stall on Tuesday we’ll give you some vintage Snow stash (available whilst stocks last)!!!!!

We’ve had a few FAQ’s pop up so I will do my best to answer them below:

What does the base price include?

The base price of £369+ includes transport (coach), accommodation (shared rooms with cooking facilities and normally a balcony) and lift pass (6 days).

Do I have to pay it all at once?

No! You secure your spot with a £100 deposit. No one has ever regretted their decision to book (I pinky promise).

I don’t know anyone! (not a question but still)

Not to fear! Trip is a great way to make new friends that you will love forever (There’s no love like snow love)! I myself went on trip alone as a fresher and it has since proved to be the second best decision of my life. The coach journeys are always very social and you will be allocated rooms/allocate yourself before we leave so you can meet your room mates before you leave for trip. Our socials are a great way of meeting people and are commonly where room mates on trip first meet, so come down tomorrow to the paint party!

I have never skied or snowboarded before! (“”)

When booking onto trip you can sign up for lessons. Refresher and park lessons are also available for the more experienced. There’s a beginners package at £149 for both ski and snowboard including hire and 10hrs of lessons!

Can I hire equipment?

You can hire a variety of things including ski/board kit, ski/board boots, helmets and GoPro’s! They vary with price dependent on level.

Can I meet you there?

Transport is include in the base price so if you opt to meet us there you can select that transport is not required on the booking page and save yourself £40. Coaches run regularly up to L2A!

How much money should I bring?

This really depends, I think I typically spend around 150 euros but it can be done cheaper. We stop at a large supermarket on the way to stock up on supplies as is cheaper than doing so in resort. The rooms are kitted with cooking facilities so you can eat pasta bake with your pals and make as many croque-monsieur’s as you can fit in your back pack. We also pre every night so you don’t spend a fortune each time you go out.

Do I need to be a member to book?

No! The trip is open to everyone (as in, you could actually bring your Mum) so we heavily encourage you bringing your friends from other universities and home! If you are a paid member of UEA Snow then you save yourself the £10 non-member fee and get a wide variety of other perks.

How much will it cost me?

Ok so this is the break down, please note it is all optional bar damage deposit;

Damage deposit, £65 (you’ll get this back if you don’t damage anything)!

Non-members fee, if you are not a member of the club, either standard or social, you will need to pay a £10 non-membership fee, please note this does not buy you club membership. To avoid this buy your membership here and enjoy discounted social rates and membership at the Norfolk Snowsports Club where we train!

Insurance, Wasteland offer a Bronze cover for £25 with an optional £18 excess waiver and other activity packs. Gold cover is £35 and again there is an optional excess waiver of £18 and other activity packs. You can also book your own insurance separately.
